Pakistan Super League

After all the enthusiastic league finally comes to an end. As mentioned before, Cricket is the most played sports in Pakistan and certainly whole of South Asia including India and Afghanistan. The final was played between Peshawar VS Islamabad United. The final was won by Islamabad United as they were the better side. The best thing that happened because of this league was that Cricket returned back to Pakistan after 9 years. The devastating incident that took place 9 years ago against some international players who were shot. None of the international players were agreeing to play in that country again, but PSL made it possible with the help of Pakistan Army and the people of Pakistan.  Other than that alot of new young talent was found in this league. The winning team was awarded with $1 Million cash while the runner ups were awarded $500,000 in cash and rewards.

After an over whelmed and very nail biting play offs in the Pakistan Super League in Dubai, the league has finally finished with group stages and play offs and now moved on to the semis and then the finals. The challenging part of this league has been started now as the finals are going to be played in Karachi, Pakistan and the semis are going to be played in Lahore, Pakistan the rest of the league matches were played in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. A lot of international players have agreed to come to Pakistan to play the match while a few of them rejected the offer due to safety concerns, But since the PSL's main focus is to bring cricket back home after the 2005 attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team. In my opinion the PSL is a success as the main international players have already agreed or on their way to the destination for the Finals.

As elaborated in my previous blog, the Pakistan super league is now in its group stages and is getting thriller day by day. The previous match between Lahore Qalandars vs Karachi Kings was watched by over 50 million people worldwide concentrating audience in Pakistan and India the match was a tie at first but after that it was won by Lahore on a super over bases. A super over is basically where a team has to hit the most runs in 6 balls the team that hits the highest The play offs are going to be played in the host country while the rest of the matches are going to be played in Dubai. This league gives youngsters a great chance to participate and show their talent which can further get them into higher level.
